Kano State Screens 720 Couples for Mass Wedding Initiative

Kano State is currently screening 720 prospective couples as part of a mass wedding initiative designed to support less privileged individuals. This development was confirmed by Deputy Commander General Aminudddeen of the Hisbah Board.

The screening process, which began on Tuesday, is being conducted by the Kano State Agency for Control Aid (KSACA) and will continue on Wednesday. Couples are required to present copies of their registration forms at the designated venue.

The mass wedding program, which is part of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's initiative, aims to assist widows, divorcees, orphans, and other less privileged residents by covering marriage expenses and providing financial household support. Additionally, the Hisbah Board, in collaboration with the state Ministry of Health, will conduct mandatory health tests for HIV, Hepatitis B, and other sexually transmitted infections to ensure healthy unions.
