Kano Senator Distributes 47,280 Rice Bags for Ramadan

On Tuesday, Kano Senator Barau Jibrin flagged off the distribution of 47,280 bags of rice to support households during the holy month of Ramadan and the subsequent Sallah celebration. This initiative, which is part of an annual tradition, aims to assist constituents in fulfilling their religious obligations by providing food during the holy month.

The first phase of the distribution will benefit 47,280 households across 13 local government areas within the Kano North Senatorial District. Senator Barau emphasized the importance of grassroots support and described this gesture as a significant intervention for the community during Ramadan.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude towards the Deputy President of the Senate, Ismail Mudashir, for the initiative, which is intended to support various sectors of human development. Eid el-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, is celebrated with communal prayers, feasting, and charitable acts, typically observed on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month in the Islamic calendar.
