Kano State Proposes New Law to Regulate Influx of Immigrants, Address Security Concerns

Kano State is taking action to address the "uncontrolled influx" of immigrants by proposing a new law to regulate and reduce their entry. The Commissioner of Religious Affairs, Sheik Ahmad Tijjani Auwal, highlighted concerns about the security and social implications of the growing number of immigrants in the state.

The proposed law aims to establish a legal framework to control immigration and prevent vulnerable situations, as reported after a radio program on Rahma Radio Kano. The initiative has garnered support from community members, including Alhaji Sani Muhammad, a traditional ruler in Wudil.

The move is seen as crucial to safeguarding the safety and security of the state amidst the increasing presence of immigrants, including women and children, in precarious conditions.
