Kano State to Launch 30 Learning Centers for Children

The Kano State government has announced plans to establish 30 learning centers aimed at enrolling out-of-school children, with a focus on girls and Tsangaya pupils. This initiative, disclosed in a statement by Balarab Danlami, the Director of Corporate Communications, and Yusuf Kabir, the Executive Chairman of the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), is part of the 2024 UBEC-SUBEB matching grant intervention program.

The program will begin with the establishment of ten learning centers in Albasu, Bagwai, and Warawa local government areas. The centers are designed to provide structured learning opportunities for children who previously lacked access to conventional schools, thereby bridging the educational gap.

The initiative emphasizes flexibility and inclusivity, ensuring that the learning schedules accommodate the specific needs of beneficiaries. Adequate instructional materials will be provided, and facilitators will receive training to ensure effective teaching.

The program underscores Kano State's commitment to reducing the number of out-of-school children and strengthening inclusive basic education.
