Mother of Five Delivers Quadruplets in Ogun, Seeks Help

Mufiat Olateju, a 40-year-old mother of five, delivered quadruplets at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Initially, medical scans did not indicate that she was carrying four babies, leading to a surprise delivery.

The first scan suggested only one baby, while subsequent scans revealed two, ultimately resulting in the birth of four children. Mufiat is appealing for assistance from the state government and individuals to help care for her newborns, as she is unprepared for the unexpected multiple births.

Dr. Taofeek Ogunfunmilayo, her gynecologist, monitored the delivery, which occurred at 32 weeks, classifying the babies as premature. They have been admitted to the nursery unit for specialized care.

Mufiat's condition is stable, but she requires support due to the challenges of caring for four newborns.
