KAP Group and Benin Sign MoU to Enhance Film Industry

On Thursday, KAP Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Benin to bolster the regional film industry. The agreement, signed in Lagos, aims to strengthen the audiovisual landscape across the region and was established following an invitation from the Beninese president.

The partnership focuses on three pillars: co-production of films, authentic storytelling, and youth training in filmmaking and creative production. Key figures in this collaboration include Kunle Afolayan, CEO of KAP Group, and Seun Soyinka, Executive Director of KAP Group.

The MoU signifies the official commencement of a strategic alliance to empower youth and develop a globally competitive creative infrastructure. The partnership will also involve a delegation from Benin, including Sinat Saka, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Audiovisual Affairs, and Colin Lee Toumson, Special Adviser on Arts and Culture.

The initiative aims to position the Republic of Benin as a hub for film creativity in Africa, with a formal program scheduled for February 19-22.
