Katsina Government Denies N10m Hajj Sponsorship Claims

The Katsina State Government has officially refuted claims that it sponsored N10 million for Hajj pilgrimage for individuals linked to banditry, labeling the allegations as false and politically driven. Dr.

Nasir Mua Azu, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, clarified that the claims do not reflect reality and are entirely untrue. The allegations surfaced during a program on Trust TV, where Bashir Kurfi reportedly made the claims.

The government accused certain individuals of attempting to mislead the public and create unnecessary tension in the state, especially as security operations have reportedly made significant progress against criminal groups. The government stressed that the claims are baseless and lack credible evidence, warning that anyone spreading false information could face legal consequences.

Dr. Mua Azu urged residents to ignore the allegations and continue supporting security agencies in their efforts to restore peace in Katsina.
