Katsina Rep Ahmed Doro Defects from APC to PDP

Ahmed Yusuf Doro, representing Bindawa/Mani Federal Constituency in Katsina State, has officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This announcement was made during a plenary session on Thursday, where the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, read Doro's letter of notification.

The letter, dated July 18, 2026, indicated that Doro's decision was made after extensive consultations with his constituents and careful consideration of the best path to enhance service delivery and representation. He expressed that this move would allow him to better serve the interests of his constituents while remaining committed to his legislative duties in the 10th House of Representatives.

Doro also thanked the APC leadership and members for their support during his tenure in the party and reaffirmed his dedication to effective representation and sustainable development for his constituency under the PDP.
