Gunmen Kill 10 Security Officers in Kebbi State Attack

On Tuesday night, gunmen ambushed security personnel in Kebbi State, resulting in the deaths of 10 individuals, including nine soldiers and one police officer. The attack took place in Giro Masa within the Shanga Local Government Area, where the assailants also reportedly burned two military gun trucks.

The Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, confirmed the incident during a visit to victims at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Birnin Kebbi, describing the attack as barbaric and unacceptable. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of security personnel who died in the line of duty and assured that the state government would cover medical expenses for the injured and support the families of the deceased.

Governor Idris emphasized the administration's commitment to tackling insecurity and pledged to work closely with military security agencies to restore peace in the affected areas. The attack has raised concerns about the evolving tactics of armed groups targeting security forces, highlighting the need for improved intelligence gathering and military presence in vulnerable regions.
