Kebbi State Dissolves Abdullahi Fodio University Council

The Kebbi State government has officially dissolved the governing council of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero, and has relieved the Vice Chancellor, two Deputy Vice Chancellors, the Registrar, and the Bursar of their duties. This decision follows the recommendations of a visitation panel and was announced in a statement by Yakubu Bala Tafida, the Secretary to the State Government, on Thursday.

The State Executive Council approved the panel's recommendations, which included the immediate effect of the dissolution as of April 30, 2026. Abba Muhammad Adua has been appointed as the sole administrator tasked with stabilizing the university and restoring academic integrity until a new governing council is constituted.

The statement emphasized the need for the new council to oversee the appointment of new principal officers for the university.
