Kebbi State Distributes Farm Inputs and Ramadan Aid

On a significant occasion for Kebbi State's agricultural transformation, Governor Nasir Idris flagged off the distribution of farm inputs and Ramadan palliatives at Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi. The initiative, part of the Kaura Agricultural Development Agenda, aims to empower farmers and enhance food security.

Governor Idris highlighted Kebbi's steady growth in rice production, projecting an increase from 3.05 million tons in 2023 to 3.15 million tons in 2024, with plans to maintain this growth into 2025. The state is distributing 2,000 solar-powered pumps, 5,000 power tillers, 5,500 sprayers, 24,000 liters of herbicide, 70,000 liters of liquid organic fertilizer, and 5,000 tons of assorted fertilizers to farmers.

Additionally, 6,500 tons of assorted grains, including rice, maize, and millet, will be distributed as Ramadan palliatives to cushion the economic hardships faced by vulnerable populations during the holy month.
