Man Arrested for Attempted Murder of Okada Rider in Kebbi

In Kebbi, a man was arrested for allegedly attempting to kill an Okada rider and steal his motorcycle. The police reported that the victim was found with a serious head injury at Tungar Dariya Bush, near Makera Village, and was taken to Koko General Hospital for treatment.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had hired the motorcyclist from Koko Town to the bush, where he attacked the rider with a hoe and covered him with leaves, believing he was dead. After the attack, the suspect fled with the motorcycle to Yauri town, where the police traced and recovered the stolen vehicle, leading to his arrest.

SP Bashir Usman, the police public relations officer, stated that the suspect is cooperating with investigators, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution. CP Umar M.

Hadejia condemned the act as a direct assault on human life and warned that the command would pursue and prosecute anyone preying on commercial motorcycle riders or law-abiding citizens.
