Police Arrest Suspected Robber, Recover Stolen Motorcycle

On July 16, 2026, at approximately 11:30 AM, the Oyo State Police Command responded to a distress report regarding a robbery incident in Ibadan. The victim, Muhammadu Kamilu, was attacked by a suspect identified as Shafiu Nuhu, who allegedly used an iron hammer to steal Kamilu's Bajaj Boxer motorcycle.

Following credible information from the public, the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) was deployed to the scene, leading to Nuhu's arrest and the recovery of the stolen motorcycle, which bears the registration number AJW 842. Kamilu sustained injuries during the assault and was assisted by a good Samaritan, Nathaniel Ibrahim, who helped evacuate him to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

During interrogation, Nuhu allegedly confessed to being a lone robber targeting commercial motorcyclists in Ibadan. The police are continuing their investigation to determine if Nuhu is involved in similar criminal activities.
