Four Arrested in Kebbi Over N30m Kidnap Threat

The Kebbi State Police Command arrested four suspects in connection with a kidnapping threat involving a ransom demand of N30 million. The suspects, identified as Muhammad Shafiu (21), Mansur Ibrahim (21), Aliyu Umar (25), and Muhammad Suleiman (23), were apprehended following a complaint from Alhaji Aminu Garba Jega, who reported receiving threatening phone calls.

Investigations revealed that the first three suspects procured new SIM cards to repeatedly call the victim using disguised voices that mimicked a Fulani man, aiming to instill fear while concealing their identities. The fourth suspect, a family friend of the victim, allegedly provided the victim's phone number and family details to facilitate the threat.

Swift intelligence operations led to the suspects' tracking and arrest in Gumbin Kure Gamjeji Village, located in the Maiyama Local Government Area, thereby thwarting the kidnapping plot.
