Kebbi State Investigates Deaths of Two Children in Hospital

The Kebbi State Government, led by Governor Nasir Idris, has formed a special committee to investigate the deaths of two children at the General Hospital in Zuru. This decision comes in response to rising public concern regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident, particularly allegations that the children received incorrect injections.

The committee, chaired by Yakubu Tafida, includes members such as Sama Ila Augi, Manu Dogondaji, and Zaki Abubakar, who will serve as the acting secretary. The panel is expected to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation to establish the immediate and remote causes of the deaths and recommend necessary measures, including potential sanctions against those found culpable.

The investigation aims to address claims made by the children's father regarding wrongful medical administration. The committee has been given a one-week deadline to submit its findings, as the incident has sparked outrage within the community, prompting demands for justice and accountability in healthcare practices.
