Kebbi Governor Reintroduces Loans for Teachers' Benefits

On Tuesday, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris pledged to reintroduce soft loan packages for teachers in the state, which will include loans for housing, cars, and motorcycles. This announcement was made during the inauguration of 12,779 sets of furniture for primary and secondary schools in Kebbi.

Governor Idris emphasized the importance of addressing the plight of teachers, stating that by the year 2026, the government will ensure that teachers at both primary and post-primary levels will benefit from these loans. He assured that the government is committed to treating teachers with respect and dignity, rather than as second-class citizens.

The governor's initiative is part of a broader effort to provide adequate classroom furniture and create a conducive teaching and learning environment. Halima Band, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, expressed her happiness regarding the governor's commitment to education, highlighting the positive impact of these projects on the educational sector.
