Troops Neutralize Lakurawa Terrorists in Kebbi State

In Kebbi State, Nigerian troops successfully repelled an ambush by the Lakurawa terrorist group, resulting in the neutralization of five terrorists. The ambush occurred near Mayama Hill while Major General Bemgha Koughna Mondai, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 8 Division, was visiting frontline troops.

The attack involved heavy fire directed at the GOC's convoy, but the troops responded with overwhelming firepower, successfully countering the ambush. Following the engagement, the troops conducted a meticulous sweep of the area, recovering significant caches of weapons and intelligence materials.

The recovered items included one OJC gun, one PKT gun, two AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines, several rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, a camel bag containing 840,000, two mobile phones, and five motorcycles. The operation highlighted the tactical prowess of the troops under Major General Koughna's leadership.
