Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas Supports New Army Division

On Friday, Taraba state governor Agbu Kefas pledged his administration's full support for the establishment and operationalization of the Nigerian Army's newly created 10 Division in Taraba. This commitment was made during a courtesy visit from the Nigerian Army Order of Battle (ORBAT) 2023 Review Committee at the T.Y.

Danjuma House in Abuja. Governor Kefas stated that the state government would provide suitable land and necessary support for constructing military facilities essential for the division's take-off.

He emphasized the importance of the division in strengthening security operations in Taraba and neighboring states, given the state's strategic location and security challenges. Taraba shares borders with Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi, Plateau, Benue, and Nasarawa states, as well as an extensive international border with the Republic of Cameroon.

The governor identified local government areas such as Kurmi, Takum, Gashaka, and Sardauna as critical for military presence to combat cross-border crimes. Maj.-Gen. Ugiagbe, leading the ORBAT 2023 Review Committee, commended the state government's continued support for the Nigerian Army.
