Kelechi Nwakali Leaves Barnsley, Set for Cyprus Move

Kelechi Nwakali has departed Barnsley Football Club by mutual consent, with the exit subject to approval from the English Football League (EFL). Barnsley confirmed this development through a statement on their official website, wishing Nwakali well for the future.

The 28-year-old midfielder joined Barnsley in 2024 after leaving Portuguese club Chaves and made a total of 30 appearances, including 12 league starts during the 2024/2025 season. His departure necessitates adjustments to Barnsley's midfield options as they continue their campaign.

Nwakali is anticipated to move to Cyprus, with reports indicating that Cypriot club PΑC Omonia is his likely next destination. This move presents an opportunity for Nwakali to revive his career and gain regular playing time.
