Keyamo Blames Opposition for Staged APC Poster Destruction Videos

Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo has leveled accusations that opposition political groups orchestrated the destruction of All Progressives Congress campaign materials as a coordinated initiative targeting the ruling party. After a video emerged depicting a man dismantling APC posters while brandishing what resembled a weapon, Keyamo took to social media.

He labeled the individual in the footage as a paid operative employed by opposition elements. Keyamo argued that the incident was intentionally filmed and shared to fabricate an inaccurate portrayal of President Bola Tinubu's lack of public backing among Nigerians.

He portrayed this propaganda strategy as deliberately timed for the 2027 general election period. According to the minister's remarks, the tactic relied on manufactured visual evidence designed to shape negative political messaging, rather than capturing authentic grassroots perspectives.

Keyamo also referenced distinct events where APC members had reportedly covered opposition party posters using their own campaign imagery throughout Lagos State. The minister maintained that news organizations had not granted equivalent scrutiny or condemnation to these APC-related actions, pointing to what he termed inconsistent treatment by media outlets in their coverage of political behavior.
