Youths in Kebbi Protest Against APC, Destroy Campaign Posters

Tension arose in the Jega area of Kebbi State over the weekend when youths protested against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by tearing down campaign posters of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris. The protest occurred on Saturday as the youths, returning from a football match, chanted “bamaso” (we don’t want) while pulling down APC posters along major roads.

They also damaged billboards and vandalized vehicles belonging to a local car dealer. The demonstration escalated to the point where security operatives were deployed to disperse the crowd, restoring normalcy in the area.

Isah Assalafi, the APC State Publicity Secretary, condemned the actions and called for a thorough investigation and prosecution of those involved, emphasizing that political affiliation should not shield anyone from accountability. He urged other political parties to ensure their supporters engage in peaceful democratic practices.
