Agbu Kefas Declares Security Concern in Taraba LG Area

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has redesignated Karim Lamido Local Government Area as an area of particular security concern for an additional six months after a deadly attack on Binnari community on October 23, 2026, which left over 30 residents dead. The governor made this announcement following an emergency security meeting at the EXCO Chamber of the T.Y.

Danjuma House in Jalingo. He condemned the violence and expressed deep concern for the loss of lives and the trauma inflicted on families.

Kefas reaffirmed his administration's commitment to protecting lives and property, stating that those responsible for the attack would be pursued. He directed authorities to account for missing persons and support affected families.

The governor also tasked security agencies with investigating the attackers' movements and possible motives. He called for a coordinated security response and urged community leaders to provide credible information to security agencies.

Kefas expressed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the souls of the deceased.
