Kogi collaborates with UNICEF, WHO ,others for Measles Rubella Vaccination

The Kogi State government has partnered with UNICEF, WHO, and other organizations for the Measles Rubella Vaccination campaign. The Executive Director of the Agency, Musa Muazu, announced the collaboration during an orientation forum in Lokoja.

The campaign is set to take place in 21 Local Government Areas from October 4th to 13th, 2025. The aim is to raise awareness and dispel misconceptions about Measles Rubella, also known as German measles, which is 95% preventable through vaccination.

UNICEF emphasized the importance of vaccination as Measles Rubella can lead to serious health complications, including birth defects and brain damage. Trained health workers will be stationed at various locations to administer the vaccine, targeting children in schools, markets, motor parks, mosques, churches, and other public places.

The campaign seeks to protect children and prevent the spread of the disease.
