Kogi PDP Declares Mourning for Ex-Governor Ibrahim Idris

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has announced a 40-day mourning period following the death of its former governor, Ibrahim Idris. An 11-man Central Planning Committee has been established to manage condolence and burial activities, chaired by the State Chairman, Muhammed Gambo, with State Secretary Sunday Ibrahim serving as secretary.

The committee includes members such as Yahaya Karaku and Paul Ukwenya, tasked with coordinating with Idris's family and the Kogi State Government for a befitting burial. The PDP expressed its sorrow and commiserated with Idris's family, describing him as a political colossus and a founding father of the PDP in Kogi.

Flags at the party's state secretariat and local government offices will be flown at half-mast until 40 days after the burial. The party also acknowledged the Kogi State Government's efforts to provide a state burial for Idris, recognizing his contributions to the state during his tenure from 2003 to 2012.
