Kogi Governor Ododo Declares Mourning for Ibrahim Idris

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Ododo expressed profound sorrow over the death of former governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, describing it as a significant loss to both Kogi State and Nigeria. In response, Ododo declared a three-day mourning period and ordered that the national and Kogi State flags be flown at half-mast in government offices and designated public institutions.

This announcement was made in a statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo. Ododo visited the Idris family to offer condolences and stated that Idris would receive a state burial, with the Kogi State Government covering all burial expenses.

Ibrahim Idris served as governor from 2003 to 2011, during which he made notable contributions to infrastructure, education, and healthcare in the state. Ododo emphasized that Idris would be remembered for his dedication to public service and the positive impact he had on many lives.

He extended condolences to the Idris family and the people of Kogi State.
