Kogi University VC Urges Alumni to Invest in Education

During the groundbreaking ceremony for the Accounting Research Centre of Excellence and Digital Library at Prince Abubakar Audu University in Anyigba, Kogi State, Professor Usman Ogbo, the Vice-Chancellor, emphasized that government funding alone is insufficient for developing a world-class university. He praised Dr.

Rabiu Olowo, an alumnus and Executive Secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, for his significant donation, which aims to enhance the university's research capacity and global visibility. Professor Ogbo called on other alumni to follow Dr.

Olowo's example by contributing to impactful projects that advance education and infrastructure. He noted that this donation is the first of its kind since the university's establishment, highlighting its importance as an enduring legacy.

The Vice-Chancellor also urged lecturers to treat students well, as they will be future leaders. Dr.

Olowo, represented by Dr. Mohammed Umar, expressed that the donation was a way to give back to the institution that shaped his academic journey.
