Kwankwaso Supports Catholic Bishops on Nigeria's Economy

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), commended the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) for their courage in highlighting Nigeria's pressing socio-economic and security challenges. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Kwankwaso acknowledged the bishops' concerns regarding the rising cost of living, worsening insecurity, declining public confidence in governance, and the growing hardship faced by millions of Nigerians.

He emphasized that these issues are not partisan but reflect the daily realities of ordinary citizens across Nigeria. Kwankwaso lamented the economic hardship, unemployment, and poor access to education and healthcare that many Nigerians endure despite the country's vast resources.

He called for urgent, sincere, and people-centered responses from leaders and encouraged Nigerians to engage with the government constructively, advocating for good governance and accountability. His comments come amid ongoing discussions on the economy and governance following the bishops' recent remarks on the need for stronger efforts to address Nigeria's challenges.
