Kwankwaso Supports Probe into Dadiyata's Disappearance

Rabiu Kwankwaso, a prominent political figure, expressed his support for the investigation into the disappearance of activist Dadiyata, who was abducted in August 2019 from his home in Barnawa, Kaduna. Kwankwaso reassured the Inspector General of Police (IGP) that the decision to investigate claims linking two senior police officers to Dadiyata's abduction is a long-overdue action.

He called for a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice and urged the police to place the implicated officers under close surveillance to prevent interference in the investigation process. Additionally, Kwankwaso called on the government to ensure that Dadiyata's family receives compensation for the trauma they have endured.

He commended civil society groups and lawyer Abba Hikima for their advocacy efforts. The IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, directed the police monitoring unit to investigate allegations made by Muhammad Musa Kamarawa, a former aide to Zamfara Governor Bello Matawalle, regarding the involvement of CSP Hussaini Gimba and CSP Hassan Gimba in Dadiyata's disappearance.
