Eight Aspirants Compete for Kaiama APC Reps Ticket

In Kaiama, eight aspirants are vying for the All Progressives Congress (APC) representative ticket as efforts to reach a consensus have collapsed. The aspirants include Aliyu Umar, Comrad Abubakar Musa Shamaki, Aliyu Muhammad Saiffudeen, Halidu Danbaba, Malam Ana Adamu Galadima Zam Zam, and Aliyu Abubakar Ibrahim.

A meeting held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, revealed that six aspirants rejected the consensus attempt, arguing it undermines the democratic process and insisting on preserving unity within the APC. Following the breakdown of consensus talks, a statement from the party indicated that four aspirants may be disqualified by the APC national headquarters, potentially affecting their participation in the primary elections.

Party members across Kaiama and Baruten local government areas have been encouraged to remain calm and focus on strengthening the party ahead of the upcoming general elections.
