158 Aspirants Compete for 24 Kwara Assembly Tickets

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State is witnessing intense political competition as 158 aspirants vie for 24 assembly tickets ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle. The screening process, conducted by the chairman of the committee, Prof.

Success Jubril Musa, was held at the APC secretariat in Ilorin. Musa assured that the contest would be transparent and devoid of bias, emphasizing that every aspirant would be treated fairly.

He highlighted the significance of the large number of aspirants as a healthy sign of democratic growth in Kwara State. Musa cautioned aspirants against submitting questionable credentials, referencing past legal complications faced by the APC in Bayelsa State.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC leadership for their efforts to deepen democratic participation in the country. Princ Sundai Fagbemi, the APC chairman, urged aspirants to avoid discrepancies in their academic records, ensuring that the screening committee would uphold the party's standards.

Hon. Oba Abdulkadir Magaji, the current house leader, praised the seamless process, while Hon.

Rukayat Shittu expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the screening.
