Danladi-Salihu Receives APC Governorship Nomination Form

Yakubu Danladi Salihu, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, received the governorship nomination form from the Kwara APC on a Tuesday at the party's state secretariat in Ilorin. The event was officiated by the state APC chairman, Sundai Fagbemi, and attended by various party leaders and stakeholders.

Salihu's nomination comes after he emerged as the party's flag bearer in the governorship primaries held on May 22, where he defeated 14 other aspirants with a total of 94,990 votes. Despite this development, there are ongoing internal disagreements within the Kwara APC, particularly from a coalition of aggrieved governorship aspirants known as the G10.

These members have expressed concerns over the conduct of the primaries and the need for reconciliation within the party. Fagbemi urged party members to avoid actions that could exacerbate divisions, emphasizing the importance of unity as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
