Kwara APC Crisis Deepens as 11 Executives Join PDP

In a significant political shift in Kwara State, eleven ward executives from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gambari Ward 1, Ilorin East Local Government Area, have resigned from their positions and the party to join Senator Saliu Mustapha in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The executives, including Abubakar Mahmood, who resigned as organizing secretary, and others such as Olayinka Odunlami (Treasurer) and Kelani Kola Saheed (Auditor General), announced their decision in a letter expressing their commitment to the best interest of their ward.

This resignation follows the earlier departures of the Chairman and Secretary of Gambari Ward 1, Alhaji Aliyu Abdulhakeem and Abdulwaheed Dauda Adanla, respectively. The executives indicated that their move aligns with the emerging "rainbow coalition" ahead of the 2027 general elections, marking a notable realignment in the political landscape of the area.
