Bandits Kill Woman, Abduct Four in Kwara State Attack

On Thursday, bandits launched an attack on the Oniko community in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State, which is part of the Ilorin emirate. The assailants killed an aged woman and abducted four residents, including a nursing mother and her seven-month-old baby.

The attack occurred around 7 PM, when the gunmen stormed the community, targeting individuals and shooting the aged woman when she could not walk fast enough. This incident has sparked panic among the residents of the Ilorin emirate, despite Oniko being located in the Moro Local Government Area, which is in the northern part of Kwara State.

Social media posts have called for attention from security agencies and the state government, urging them to ensure the safety of the people in Oniko village. As of Friday, there was no response from the police hierarchy regarding the situation.
