15-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Kills Guardian in Kwara

On Friday, the Kwara State Police Command announced the arrest of 15-year-old Boi Gobri Yusuf, who is alleged to have killed his guardian, Simpli Akanbi, after a failed poisoning attempt. The incident occurred in Ilorin, the state capital.

Police spokesperson Adekim Ojo disclosed that the arrest followed a distress report received by the police, leading them to discover Akanbi's lifeless body in a pool of blood. Preliminary investigations revealed that Yusuf had attacked Akanbi with household items after a poisoning attempt failed.

Items recovered from the scene included a frying pan, weighing scale, kitchen turn stick, spatula, and kitchen knife. During interrogation, Yusuf confessed to the crime, stating that he acted out of resentment towards Akanbi.

It was reported that he changed his clothes and left the residence under the pretext of running an errand before later contacting Akanbi's husband, who subsequently discovered the body. The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
