Kwara Chieftain Urges Unity Amid Political Differences

Yakubu Gobir, the Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin Emirate, called on Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Senator Saliu Mustapha to transcend their political differences and uphold the bonds of brotherhood among the people of Ilorin. In a statement made available in Ilorin on Sunday, Gobir cautioned supporters of both leaders against personal attacks and provocative comments, emphasizing that political disagreements should not lead to lasting divisions.

He highlighted his long-standing relationships with both AbdulRazaq, who is the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate, and Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin, stating that their friendship should prevail over political rivalries. Gobir urged that loyalty to political leaders should not equate to hostility towards opponents, warning that inflammatory rhetoric could cause enduring harm to community relations.

He stressed the importance of maintaining peace and unity in Ilorin, stating that political contests should not sacrifice these values.
