Kwara Governor Lauds Tinubu for Oko Olowo Bridge Project

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the commencement of construction on the Oko Olowo Bridge, a project he described as the realization of a long-standing advocacy by the state. The advocacy for the bridge began in 2019 and was renewed after Tinubu took office in 2023.

AbdulRazaq noted that he, along with Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency lawmaker Mukhtar Shagaya, and Ahmed Yinka Aluko, met with the Minister of Works, David Umahi, in 2024 to advocate for the bridge and the Ilorin-Lokoja Road through Omu Aran. During Umahi's visit to Kwara in October 2025, he assured that construction would begin soon.

AbdulRazaq expressed gratitude for the project, viewing it as a commitment to protect lives and property. He urged the Minister of Works to expedite other requests, particularly concerning the Ilorin-Lokoja Road, and stated that the bridge project represents a significant dividend of democracy, influencing the state's support for Tinubu and APC candidates in the upcoming elections.
