AbdulRazaq Lauds Tinubu for Oko-Olowo Bridge Project

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq commended President Bola Tinubu for initiating the construction of the Oko-Olowo Bridge, a project he described as a fulfillment of a long-standing demand by the state government. In a statement released on Thursday by his Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Mashood Agboola, AbdulRazaq noted that advocacy for the bridge began in 2019 and was renewed after Tinubu took office in 2023.

He recalled a visit to the Minister of Works, David Umahi, in 2024, alongside Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo and members of the National Assembly from Kwara, to push for the bridge and the Ilorin-Lokoja Road. AbdulRazaq stated that during a visit to Kwara in October 2025, Umahi assured that construction would commence soon.

The bridge's construction is seen as a relief for thousands of residents and motorists, especially after the collapse of the old Moro Bridge on April 30, 2026, which disrupted major road connections between Kwara and Oyo State.
