Kwara Community Appeals to Tinubu Over Bandit Attacks

Residents of Patigi Local Government Area in Kwara have formally requested President Bola Tinubu's intervention regarding ongoing bandit attacks that have severely affected their community over the past two years. In a letter signed by Tauhe Ahm, the secretary of the Lata Nna Youth Association, the residents described the dire situation, stating that they can no longer safely access farms or markets, and daily life has become unbearable due to incessant kidnappings and armed robberies.

The letter highlights a series of violent incidents, including the reported killing of two residents, Alhassan Ndaba and another individual, during attacks on June 26, 2026. The community has urged the federal government to deploy additional security personnel to restore peace and ensure safe access to roads.

They also recounted that 65 local hunters were reportedly killed in clashes with bandits in August 2025, with many bodies recovered. The residents emphasized their urgent need for security measures to protect lives and property.
