Kwara State Initiates Repairs on Damaged Children's Hospital

The Kwara State government has directed the immediate repair of sections of the Children’s Specialist Hospital in Igboro that were damaged by a recent rainstorm. This decision was issued on Friday, with the Kwara State Hospital Management Board, led by Executive Secretary Dr.

Abdulraheem Malik, conducting an urgent site assessment of the affected facilities. The board emphasized the importance of restoring the hospital to full operational capacity to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services, particularly for mothers and children.

Work on the repairs has already commenced, recognizing the critical role the hospital plays in providing care. The management reassured parents and caregivers that children currently receiving treatment will not experience any disruption in service delivery.

The state government has been fully informed of the damage and has approved urgent intervention for repairs, which include key sections such as the emergency pediatric unit, wards, and structural elements impacted by the storm.
