Kwara State Increases Student Bursary to N30,000

The Kwara State Government has raised its annual bursary for indigenes studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria from N20,000 to N30,000, marking a 50% increase in financial support. This decision was approved by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as part of initiatives aimed at enhancing students' welfare and alleviating the financial challenges of higher education.

Comrade Abdulwasiu Onidugbe, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Affairs, made the announcement in Ilorin while guiding executives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) through projects completed by the AbdulRazaq administration. Onidugbe stated that an application link would be provided for eligible students of Kwara origin to apply for the bursary.

The increase allows eligible students to receive an additional N10,000 annually. He emphasized the state government's commitment to students' welfare through regular bursary payments, entrepreneurship support, capacity-building programs, and other youth-focused initiatives.
