Kwara State Launches Standardized Health Counseling System

The Kwara State government is introducing a new standardized health counseling system aimed at ensuring residents receive uniform and accurate healthcare information across hospitals. This initiative, launched in collaboration with the Society for Family Health, was announced by Saad Hamdalat, the press secretary of the Kwara State Ministry of Health, on Thursday.

Dr. Amina El Imam, the commissioner for health, stated that the intervention is expected to address inconsistencies in health communication and improve public understanding of healthcare services.

The initiative will utilize a flip chart to provide frontline health workers with structured visual guidance for delivering clear and consistent counseling messages during antenatal clinics, immunization exercises, and community outreach visits. The program is expected to strengthen public awareness and service uptake in key areas such as maternal and child health, routine immunization, and malaria prevention.

Dr. Kafayat Kofo, the reproductive health coordinator, noted that the initiative aims to standardize behavior change resources and ensure communities receive accurate health information.
