Labour Party Accuses Abure of Illegal Nomination Sales

The Labour Party has publicly disowned nomination forms reportedly issued by Julius Abure, the former national chairman, labeling them as "worthless paper" sold by unauthorized individuals. The party's national secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa, stated that they received numerous inquiries from members regarding the legitimacy of these forms, particularly concerning Abia State.

Senator Nenadi Usman, the current national chairman, confirmed that valid nomination forms for the 2027 general elections can only be acquired from the party's national secretariat located in Utako, Abuja. The Labour Party warned its members and the public against engaging with Abure or any unauthorized persons, alleging that these actions are intended to deceive unsuspecting aspirants.

The party also expressed concerns over political intimidation and blackmail, asserting that the state governor, Alex Otti, has not succumbed to such pressures. The statement concluded with a warning that Abure's actions could lead to potential legal consequences.
