Labour Party Petitions Authorities Over Nomination Forms

The Labour Party has formally petitioned the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services regarding the alleged illegal distribution of party nomination forms by Julius Abure, the former national chairman. Nenadi Usman, the current national chairman, made this disclosure while addressing journalists in Abuja on Thursday, highlighting that the party's leadership remains officially recognized following its convention in Umuahia.

Usman stated that the party had sent copies of the petition to the Inspector General of Police and the DSS, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). She described the alleged circulation of nomination forms by Abure as unlawful and expressed confidence in the party's strength, citing an increasing number of aspirants for the 2027 elections.

Usman confirmed that three aspirants have already purchased the party's presidential nomination forms and reiterated that the party has zoned its presidential ticket to the South, with decisions on the next candidate to be made accordingly.
