Labour Party Warns Against Abure's Nomination Forms

The Labour Party has issued a warning to its members, advising them against acquiring nomination forms from Julius Abure, the embattled former national chairman. Ken Asogwa, the party's national secretary, described these forms as "worthless paper," asserting that legitimate nomination forms for the upcoming 2027 general elections can only be obtained from the official national secretariat located in Utako, Abuja.

The statement emphasized that any forms obtained from Abure are unauthorized and are part of a fraudulent scheme to deceive unsuspecting aspirants. Asogwa also cautioned Abure against impersonating the party's national chairman, which he termed a criminal offense with serious legal consequences.

This warning comes amid ongoing tensions within the party due to a leadership tussle, with Nenadi Usman leading a caretaker committee that has been recognized by the Federal High Court. Abure has rejected this leadership change and plans to challenge it in the Supreme Court.
