Labour Party Disowns Abure's Invalid Nomination Forms

The Labour Party (LP) has officially disowned nomination forms that were reportedly distributed by former chairman Barr Julius Abure, describing them as invalid. The party issued a statement cautioning aspirants against acquiring forms from unauthorized channels, emphasizing that only forms obtained from the party's official national secretariat in Abuja are recognized ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This statement followed the circulation of images on social media that allegedly showed Abure presenting nomination forms to individuals in Abia State. The party's inquiry into the matter revealed concerns regarding the authenticity of these forms and suggested political motivations behind their distribution.

The LP reaffirmed that Sen Nenadi Usman remains the recognized national chairman, coordinating the legitimate nomination process. The party urged members and potential aspirants to exercise caution and avoid dealings with individuals described as unauthorized officials.

Additionally, the statement warned Abure of potential legal consequences for impersonating the national chairman.
