Lagos State Launches 2026 Promotion Exercise for Public Servants

The Lagos State Government has commenced a promotion exercise for public servants, targeting officers in grade levels 01 to 05 in the mainstream civil service and grade levels 01 to 16 in parastatal organizations. Announced on Tuesday, this initiative is part of ongoing reforms aimed at ensuring career advancement and enhancing the competency and performance of public servants.

A total of 5,258 officers are participating in the exercise, with 388 undergoing a structured training program and 4,870 involved in a separate assessment program. The training sessions will be held at the Public Service Staff Development Centre in Magodo and the Women Development Centre in Agege.

Afolabi Ayantayo, who oversees the exercise, commended the orderly conduct and coordination of the program. Olubusola Abidakun, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, expressed satisfaction with the training venue and reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to sustaining reforms that enhance public service productivity.

The exercise began on Tuesday and will continue for a week, featuring training sessions designed to prepare officers for higher responsibilities.
