Lagos Completes Rehabilitation of Lekki-Ajah Road Stretch

The Lagos State Government announced the completion of the rehabilitation of the 9km Chevron-Admiralty stretch of the Lekki-Ajah road, as disclosed in a statement shared via the official Twitter account of the Lagos State Ministry of Transport on Wednesday. This stretch is part of a larger 28km corridor upgrade that includes the Lekki-Ajah Bridge and the Admiralty axis carriageway.

The project was delivered 27 days ahead of the planned 41-day timeline. Engr Olufemi Daramola, the special advisor on infrastructure, confirmed that work on the eastbound carriageway will commence soon.

Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the commissioner for transport, noted that the project's success was largely driven by a comprehensive traffic management plan, which included real-time monitoring and coordination of personnel.

The rehabilitation aimed to enhance traffic flow and commuter safety, with the entire project spanning 64 days across a 20-kilometer stretch. The Lagos State Government emphasized the importance of maintaining traffic movement along one of Lagos's busiest routes.
