Lagos Rehabilitates Iju, Adiyan Water Plants to Enhance Public Supply

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), has commenced an eight-month rehabilitation project at the Iju and Adiyan water treatment plants to enhance public water supply in the state. The project, which kicked off in February 2026, is part of the state's efforts to improve operational efficiency and increase access to safe drinking water.

The rehabilitation work includes pump replacements and upgrades to align with the corporation's strategic business plan. Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of executing the project to the highest technical standards to significantly enhance water supply across Lagos State.

The project involves engaging original manufacturers to ensure quality and durability, with KSB Pump Valv Nigeria Ltd, Wilo Pump Nigeria Ltd, and Springfield Electr Ltd as key contractors. The rehabilitation is expected to boost operational capacity, improve service reliability, and reduce waterborne diseases, benefiting millions of Lagos residents.
