Court Orders CBN to Disclose PSC Accounts in Pastor's Case

On September 25, 2026, Justice D.I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court in Lagos ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to disclose the full account details of the Police Service Commission (PSC) in relation to a N100 million damages judgment.
This judgment arose from the alleged killing of Comfort Udoh, wife of pastor Godwin Udoh, who was shot dead by a policeman on September 15, 2015, while returning home from a church program. Godwin Udoh was also injured in the incident, suffering a permanent dislocation of his jaw.
The court had previously awarded the Udoh family N100 million in damages on May 20, 2020. Following the judgment, the Udoh family obtained a garnishee order nisi to attach PSC funds held by the CBN.
The CBN's earlier disclosure showed only a single account with a zero balance, which the court found insufficient. Justice Dipeolu directed the CBN to provide a comprehensive statement of the PSC's accounts under all relevant Treasury Single Account platforms.
