Lagos Deploys 500 LASTMA Officers for Tinubu's Visit

Lagos State has deployed 500 extra officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) to manage traffic during President Bola Tinubu's visit for the inauguration of various projects. This deployment was disclosed by Gbenga Omotoso, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, during a press conference on Monday.

The initiative is part of measures to ensure seamless traffic flow, adequate security, and minimal disruption for residents during the inauguration scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Omotoso emphasized the importance of cooperation from residents and adherence to traffic advisories and security guidelines issued ahead of the visit.

The projects to be inaugurated include the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Alausa Multi-Agency Complex, and the Tolu School Complex in Ajegunle, which will serve 20,000 pupils. The Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, a 5.04-kilometer project, aims to address long-standing traffic challenges in the area and was originally conceived 20 years ago during Tinubu's tenure as governor.
